Ayurvedic Doula Cooking for Postpartum

Ayurvedic Cooking for Postpartum involves dietary and nutritional support necessary for creating a harmonious and healthy postpartum period for the future health of both mother and baby. Supporting a postnatal family requires a substantial and delicious variety of foods which Ayurveda honors and recommends. Ayurvedic Doulas will learn how to prepare and cook various recipes specifically geared for postpartum recovery. The recipes hail from the lineages of Dr. Vaidya and his wife, Anupama Vaidya, which have stood the test of generations. The menu includes fare that will satisfy and uplift the balance of both mother and baby during the first 42 days following birth.

Implementing these useful dietary guidelines will help prevent specific disorders associated with the postnatal period such as; fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, lactation issues, and digestive disorders. Furthermore, the Ayurvedic benefits of each ingredient, and how it promotes postpartum nutrition will be described in Ayurvedic Cooking for Pregnancy. The cooking processes will be demonstrated so that the Ayurvedic Doula gains the confidence to recreate the recipes for their own clients. This class leads to a cohesive understanding of foods to avoid or embrace while supporting the journey of postpartum and newborn care.
