Jyotish or Vedic Astrology is an integral portion of Ayurvedic healing. Some Vedic Acharyas proclaim that you cannot offer healing without the general understanding of Astrological forces. Students of Jyotish will gain a foundational understanding of star alignments and how this study may be implemented in regards to client experiences and interactions. The study of Jyotish offers yet another tool that the student practitioner may utilize to determine Prakruti, Vikruti, and individualized treatment plans for their clientele. Moreover, this class provides extensions of wisdom in respect to the Tridoshic theory, Mahaguna theory, and how ayurvedic practitioners discern between the functionality of the five prime elements.
From a more practical standpoint, students will gain the ability to read and dissect a birth chart with the learning of Astrological signs, houses, planets and their functionality in the realm of Ayurveda and Jyotish. A heavy focus is placed on Sanskrit terminology and Vedic philosophy to create a well balanced interpretation of the various components that exist in this vast science. In more detail, topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to basic astronomy, constellations, Nakshatras, mantra, tantra, herbs, symbols, and deities.
Additionally, students will grasp the concept of remedial astrology and how it can promote profound harmony within themselves and their client’s lives. Do’s and Don’ts of the practice will also be enumerated in Jyotish and Ayurveda. Overall, this course offers a beautiful layer of comprehension to the study of Ayurveda, and how it encompasses the union between the countless energetic forces being created and destroyed in this boundless universe.
